Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Recommend the optimum team structure to management based on company ambitions. Organise and manage all Piping Engineering and Design works for various Offshore, Onshore Greenfield and Brownfield Projects.
- Develop and implement departmental goals, strategies, and work plans in alignment with the organization's objectives.
- Provide leadership and direction to the Piping Department, including mentoring, coaching & formal training. Be responsible for the management of the performance of the various members of the department.
- Oversee piping design projects from conceptualization to execution, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations and contractual obligations.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to solve complex piping-related challenges.
- Collaborate with other department heads, project managers, and relevant stakeholders to ensure effective communication and seamless project integration.
- Review and approve piping designs, technical specifications, and engineering calculations.
- Monitor project schedules and budgets, identifying and addressing potential risks or delays.
- Ensure the efficient utilization of resources, including manpower and software tools, to achieve project goals.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to piping design and engineering.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the department.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and negotiations as required.
- Ensure that health, safety, and environmental regulations are strictly adhered to in all departmental activities.
- Supporting Business Development activities by giving realistic estimation of man-hours and resource requirements for winning the jobs.
Experience and Qualification Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Master's degree is a plus.
- 25 years of experience in Piping Design and Engineering with 5 years in a leadership role
- Must have knowledge and experience in all the three fields of piping i.e. piping layouts, piping stress analysis and piping materials.
- Offshore piping experience will be considered a plus
- In-depth knowledge of Piping codes & standards and proficiency in relevant softwares
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
